A sudden flash flood surged down the Bhote Koshi river on the morning of August 26, tearing through Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts and sweeping away villages, bridges, roads and hydropower projects.
Dozens are confirmed dead and hundreds are missing. Security forces and helicopters are mobilised for rescue, while health workers need medicine, wound care and clean-water supplies for the families left behind.
